Exploring some new Metal music

I was looking through some Kotaku articles and came across this article: The Cave Story Soundtrack Goes Heavy Metal

Boom! Right up my music street!

Here is an extract:

Cave Story already has a pretty damn good soundtrack, but as with all things, it can be improved by being dipped in liquid fire and rendered into heavy metal. Thankfully there’s Erik Peabody, who has released his new 7-track album “Made of Metal” upon the world.

It features “metal remixes honouring some of the most badass robots in video game history”, including four tracks from Cave Story. They are goofy and also they are very metal. On the album’s page, Peabody is credited with “all instrumentation”, which I take to mean that he recorded all of the tracks separately, including the drums. For which I say: My hat is off to you, sir!

Bought it!

Next I need to listen to Metroid Metal!
